The Armada
J-G2

The epic sea battles between the English Fleet and the Spanish Armada come to life in your classroom through this Jackdaw’s Broadsheet narratives and its hands-on documents and illustrations. Students will, using early maps of the times and engravings of warships, learn how sea warfare was conducted, about the heroic actions of Sir Francis Drake, and about the ongoing quarrel between Spains’s Philip II and England’s Oueen Elizabeth. Rare documents, which may be found only in British museums, are replicated in this Jackdaw; use the unique series of five maps to show precisely how and why the British stopped the Armada. Historian: John Langdon Davies. The contents of this Jackdaw feature:
